ACWA Power announces start of commercial operation of PT2 Unit of Noor Energy 1 P.S.C.

ACWA Power Company announced on Sunday that it received from the Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) on 17 November 2023 the Initial Commercial Operation certificate for the Phase 2 CSP Parabolic Trough (“PT”) 200 MW Unit of Noor Energy 1 P.S.C which is part of 950 MW Solar CSP Independent Power Project, Phase IV of the MBR Solar Park located in the Emirate of Dubai, UAE.

The total capacity under operation reaches 717 MW. The second phase is part of a 950 MW solar CSP independent power project, in addition to solar photovoltaic energy.

According to the company, the project is part of Phase IV of the MBR Solar Park in Dubai, UAE. ACWA Power owns a 25% stake in Noor Energy 1.

The company expects financial impact from the full capacity (950 MW) from quarter 1 of 2024 financial results onwards.
