Wall Street’s main indexes fell at the open on Friday after a strong jobs report exacerbated concerns that interest rates may remain high for an extended period, but the market turned higher later.
According to Reuters, the Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 252 points, or 0.76%, to 33,371 points.
The Standard & Poor’s 500 index rose 36.34 points, or 0.89%, to 4,296.15 points. The Nasdaq Composite Index also gained 154.27 points, or 1.17 percent, to 13,373.76 points.
