The main indices on Wall Street fell at the opening on Monday, as the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian resistance movement (Hamas) worsened, which led to turmoil in global markets and pushed investors towards safe haven assets, while crude oil prices jumped more than 3%.
According to Reuters, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 147.74 points, or 0.44 percent, to 33,259.84 points. The Standard & Poor’s 500 index opened down 19.48 points, or 0.45%, to 4,289.02 points. The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 105.12 points, or 0.78%, to 13,326.22 points at the opening.
