Tourism Minister Launches Second Edition of Tourism Pioneers Programme

Minister of Tourism Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khateeb announced the launch of the second edition of the Tourism Pioneers Programme. The program aims to train 100,000 young citizens, making it the largest tourism training program globally.

The ministry is implementing the second edition of the Tourism Pioneers Programme in partnership with several international training institutes. The programme aims to improve the quality of services offered in the tourism industry and enhance the overall tourist experience. The ministry is dedicated to elevating the benchmarks for professions within the tourism industry, fostering the growth of domestic talent, and fostering a culture of excellence across pivotal sectors. These endeavors harmonize with the overarching goal of the National Tourism Strategy, which is to augment the human resources within the tourism sector.

The ministry’s current agenda aims to deliver specialized and top-tier training, with a focus on targeted professions, thereby generating a positive ripple effect. To achieve this, the ministry plans to implement a globally recognized training program, accredited both domestically and internationally, in collaboration with leading local and global educational institutions.

To enhance the level of professional and leadership skills in the hospitality industry, the training programs for the upcoming edition will be conducted through virtual and in-person modes. The schedule for these programs will be monthly, considering the demands of the job market. The Ministry’s Human Capacity Development Program has emphasized multiple training programs throughout 2023 aimed at improving professional and leadership skills in the hospitality field.
