Saudi Minister of Tourism Chairs UNWTO Executive Council 119th Session in Uzbekistan

Saudi Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb chaired the 119th session of the Executive Council of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), part of UNWTO General Assembly meeting, which is being held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan from October 16 to 20.
Al-Khateeb’s chairing the current session is testimony to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s pioneering role in the tourism sector globally.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev opened the 25th session of the UNWTO General Assembly, which is attended by ministers and high-level delegates from over 150 countries.
Al-Khateeb met on the sidelines of the General Assembly with Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy of Morocco Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of Uzbekistan Aziz Abduhakimov, and Secretary of Tourism Promotion and Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports of Argentina Yanina Alejandra Martinez, with whom he discussed ways to strengthen cooperation, support sustainable tourism, and apply best practices in the sector.
