Different Tomorrow: Royal Commission for Riyadh City Hosts a Seminar on Riyadh Expo 2030

The Royal Commission for Riyadh City, responsible for the Kingdom’s bid to host World Expo 2030, organized a seminar titled “A Different Tomorrow,” featuring notable participants, including Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Al Ibrahim, digital and technology entrepreneur Olivier de Cointet, and Coxabengoa Group CEO Ignacio Moreno. Delegates representing member countries of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) and global experts also attended.

 During the seminar, Al Ibrahim affirmed that 2023 is the targeted date to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, saying the country is working with the international community to accelerate the achievement of these goals, and Riyadh Expo 2030 will serve as a platform to showcase these accomplishments to the world. “We believe that, by working together,

 we can meet the challenges of today and seize the opportunities of tomorrow,” he said. “I passionately believe that, with this Expo, transformative energy can pulsate from the heart of Riyadh to the whole world. This will be a festival for changemakers from every corner of the planet, where the extraordinary becomes expected and where we create a different tomorrow. A better tomorrow.”

 For his part, de Cointet stated, “Technology is always frightening, but it remains a tool, a tool we should carefully control for our prosperity.”

 He emphasized that “Combining technology and humanities not only helps us better understand our world but gives us new paths for creation and innovation.”

 Moreno said: “Technology and innovation will have a key role to play in the switch to a low-carbon economy with sustainable infrastructure.”

 

 The seminar is one of an ongoing series organized by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) with the Riyadh Expo 2030 team in Paris. These seminars aim to deliberate on the goals of Riyadh Expo 2030, introduce its central theme and sub-themes, and establish meaningful connections with participating countries to enhance their importance. The seminar also aims to gather ideas, opinions, and inputs from delegates and experts on the relevance of technology and innovation impacts on the economy and infrastructure.
