Standard & Poor’s 500 and Nasdaq indexes opened lower today, Tuesday, before the release of data on manufacturing industries and job opportunities that would reveal the extent of the growth of the US economy, while investors will evaluate mixed results on the profits of Merck and Pfizer Pharmaceuticals.
According to Reuters, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 26.46 points, or 0.07%, to 35,585.99 points.
As for the Standard & Poor’s 500 index, it fell by 10.13 points, or 0.22 percent, to 4,578.83 points, and the Nasdaq Composite Index fell 71.09 points, or 0.50 percent, to 14,274.93 points.
