SAMA assets amount to 1.83 trillion in June

Saudi Central Bank revealed that assets decreased to 1.832 trillion riyals at the end of last June, about 40 billion riyals, or 2.1%, from their levels in May of this year, which were 1.872 trillion riyals.

According to the Central Bank’s bulletin for the month of June 2023, which was issued a short while ago, assets decreased by 153.8 billion riyals, or by 7.7%, compared to what it was in June of the year 2022, which was 1.986 trillion riyals.

According to the bulletin, assets decreased during June 2023 compared to the same month of the year 2022, despite an increase in deposits with banks abroad by 21.4%, amounting to 410.5 billion riyals, compared to 338.1 billion in 2022, while investments in securities abroad declined to 967.4 billion riyals. And by 14.1% from the year 2022, which was 1126.6 billion riyals, and other assets decreased by about 21.7%, and foreign exchange and gold declined by 0.8%.

The assets of the Central Bank of Saudi Arabia consist of foreign currency and gold, cash on hand, deposits with banks abroad, and investments in securities abroad, in addition to other assets.
