ITFC, Sustainable Coffee Platform of Indonesia Sign Cooperation Agreement

The Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), a member of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, yesterday signed a cooperation and training agreement with Sustainable Coffee Platform of Indonesia (SCOPI) to enhance the income of smallholder coffee farmers, in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and to promote coffee trade in Indonesia.

The agreement entails training coffee farmers, within the programs and activities supported by the ITFC in the member states of the IsDB Group, to equip them with scientific and professional skills and raise their cultural and economic status, which, in turn, can lead to an effective, sustainable increase in coffee production.

Thirty trainees from Indonesia participated in training sessions focusing on monitoring and evaluation tools and developing business proposals.
