Microsoft has submitted a new deal to UK regulators to acquire Activision Blizzard after its initial proposal was rejected.

The American technology giant first spoke of the $69 billion acquisition of Activision in January 2022, but has since faced regulatory challenges in the United States, Europe and the United Kingdom.

According to “CNBC”, the British Competition and Markets Authority confirmed that it had objected to the original deal and blocked it. However, she said that both Microsoft and Activision have agreed to a new, restructured agreement, which will now be investigated by the agency as the October 18th decision deadline approaches.

Britain’s Competition and Markets Authority said that under the restructured deal, Microsoft will not acquire the cloud rights to existing Activision PC and console games, or to new games released by Activision over the next 15 years.

Capital Markets Authority added that instead, these rights will be transferred to game publisher Ubisoft Entertainment prior to Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision.
