IEA: Natural gas will play a long-term role in global energy ‎markets

Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency, said at a gas sector conference today, Tuesday, that natural gas is expected to play a long-term role in global energy markets.

According to Reuters, he added that the challenge lies in balancing the needs for additional supplies in the short term, at a time when the global market is subject to fluctuations, with the long-term needs of achieving climate goals.
