GASTAT: Inflation fell to 2.7% in June‎

The General Authority for Statistics revealed that the consumer price index in the Kingdom amounted to 2.7% during the month of June 2023 AD, compared to June 2022 AD, which is lower than the previous month, May 2023 AD, on an annual basis, when it was 2.8%; This is due to the increase in the prices of housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels by 9.1%, and the prices of food and beverages by 1%.

The authority said that the actual rents for housing in the Kingdom increased by 10.8% in June 2023 AD, which was affected by the increase in apartment rental prices by 22.8%. The index is 21%

Food and beverage prices also increased by 1%; affected by the increase in the prices of meat and poultry by 2.3%, and the prices of milk and its products and eggs by 7.1%.

The Transportation Department also recorded an increase of 1.6%; Affected by the increase in vehicle purchase prices by 1.3%, the restaurants and hotels section also recorded an increase of 4.3%; Affected by the increase in the prices of meal services by 4.1%

The Education section also increased by 3%; Affected by the increase in the prices of pre-primary and primary education by 4.5%.

The Department of Entertainment and Culture recorded an increase of 2.6%; Affected by the increase in the prices of holiday and tourism offers by 11.5%.

On the other hand, the prices of home furnishing and equipment decreased by 2.3%; Affected by the decrease in the prices of furniture, carpets and floor coverings by 4.6%, as well as the prices of the clothing and shoes department decreased by 2.9%; Affected by the decrease in the prices of ready-made garments by 4.6%
