Today, Monday, China announced the imposition of export controls on some equipment for drones, amid escalating tensions with the United States in terms of technology.
According to “Reuters”, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said in a statement that the export controls imposed on equipment, including some drone engines, lasers, communications equipment and anti-drone systems, will enter into force as of September 1.
This comes after Beijing also announced export controls on some metals that are widely used in the chip industry last month, after the United States took steps to prevent Beijing from obtaining basic technologies such as chip-making equipment.
Drones are a large industry in China, and from them are exported to several markets, including the United States
US lawmakers said that more than 50% of the drones sold in the United States are made by DJI, which is based in China, and that these drones are the most used by public security agencies.
