Under the patronage of the Ministry of Energy, Shell International signed today, with Asyad Holding Group, an agreement to open Shell-branded fuel stations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the first gas stations are expected to open in the fourth quarter of this year, 2023 AD, in the city of Riyadh.
This agreement is the result of the endeavors of the permanent executive committee for service centers and gas stations headed by the Ministry of Energy and with the membership of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Information, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Ministry of Environment and Water. And Agriculture, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, aiming to develop the service centers and gas stations sector, through the entry of the largest international companies to participate in this sector by developing highly efficient development policies, programs and transformation plans that contribute to achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
The Ministry of Energy had signed a cooperation agreement with the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises this year, in order to enable investors to obtain the right to commercial concession from qualified establishments, with the aim of improving the level of competition, and achieving the objectives of the ministry, to ensure the security and reliability of supplies and improve the structure of the sector.
