Tourism Minister Leads Saudi Arabia’s Delegation at G20 Tourism Ministerial Meeting

The Minister of Tourism, Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khateeb, participated in the G20 Tourism Ministerial Meeting, taking place in Goa, India, under the theme: “One Earth, One Family, One Future.”

During the meeting, the ministers discussed the development achieved during the Tourism Working Group Meeting under the Indian Presidency of the G20 and the five priority areas to enhance international tourism cooperation.

Minister Al-Khateeb affirmed the Kingdom’s support for the Goa Roadmap for Tourism as a strategic tool to achieve sustainable development goals.

The minister highlighted the Kingdom’s pioneering role in the tourism sector, stressing that Saudi Arabia has recorded a significant jump in the ranking of most visited countries by tourists.

Al-Khateeb invited all tourism ministers to attend the official celebration of the World Tourism Day that the Kingdom will host on 28 September. This activity proves the Kingdom’s commitment to the growth of the tourism sector worldwide and its keenness to enhance Saudi Arabia’s position as a leading global tourism destination.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the minister held bilateral talks with heads of the participating delegations to discuss opportunities for enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise on issues of mutual concern.
