Saudi, Korean companies sign MoU to build e-car charging ‎points ‎

Ashken Renewable Energy Company and the Korean “Deung Chafei”, which specializes in the manufacture of electric vehicle chargers, signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation, exchange of experiences and trade exchange in the field of electric vehicle chargers, including infrastructure and technical solutions.

In the presence of Eng. Al-Harith Al-Hussan, Executive Director of Ashhan Renewable Energy Company, and Min-Kyu Jong, Executive Director of Deong Chavi Company, under the auspices of the Minister of Lands, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea, Wong Ryung, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Kingdom, John Yong Park.

In his speech on the occasion of the signing, Wong Ryeong praised the achievements of the Korean company as the largest owner and operator of electric charging stations with a rate of more than 35% of the market for electric vehicle charging stations in the Republic of Korea, hoping that the Saudi company would benefit from the experience of its Korean counterpart, noting that the common denominators between The two companies and the importance of mutual trust on solid fraternal foundations is the main component of commercial cooperation.

It is worth noting that the Saudi Charge Company was established in early 2022 and has obtained approval from the Electricity Company to install slow and fast electric car chargers, and the necessary licenses from the Standards and Metrology Authority. In light of this, the Ashhan Company concluded contracts with a number of private sector companies to install electric vehicle chargers, including hotels, real estate companies, car rental companies, and shopping centers.

In its plan, the Ashan company intends to establish and manage an integrated network for high-speed charging of electric vehicles with international standards in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, benefiting from the experience of each of: its counterpart, the Deong Company, and the Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and the Ashan company hopes that its plan will contribute to achieving the goals The Kingdom’s vision in the field of electric vehicles

Engineer Al-Harith Al-Hussan stated that the Korean side’s sponsorship of this memorandum is due to the strong relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Korea.
