Amazon Web invests $7.8 billion to expand data centers in ‎Ohio

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced on Monday that Amazon Web Services plans to invest $7.8 billion by 2029 to expand data centers in the state, contributing to the creation of hundreds of new jobs.

Amazon Web Services data centers are the second largest private sector investment in state history, according to CNN.

According to the statement issued by the governor of the state, the new data centers will contain computer “servers”, data storage engines, networking equipment, as well as other forms of technological infrastructure used in cloud computing.

The statement indicated that the Ohio state government is studying a number of areas for the establishment of the new project, provided that the final location will be determined at a later time.

Dewayne pointed out the importance of the project in light of the increasing reliance on cloud computing, indicating that the new investment would help new and existing companies grow, as well as provide access to educational and entertainment resources via the Internet.

Amazon Web Services launched its first data center in the Midwest in 2016, in addition to achieving more than two billion dollars in economic revenues for the state of Ohio, in addition to creating more than three thousand jobs in the state.
