Wholesale price index in the Kingdom declined in March

The General Authority for Statistics revealed that the index of the wholesale price index in the Kingdom for the month of March 2023 AD increased by 1.1% compared to its counterpart for the year 2022 AD, and at a rate lower than the previous month, February 2023 AD, when it was 2.7%, and the increase in the index came mainly in the month of March 2023 AD , due to the increase in the prices of food products, beverages, tobacco and textiles by 5.1%.

The Food, Beverage, Tobacco, and Textile Products section recorded an increase of 5.1% as a result of an increase in the prices of dairy products by 18.8%, and the prices of meat, fish, fruits, vegetables, oils and fats by 7%, and the Agriculture and Fishing Products section increased by 3%; Affected by the rise in the prices of agricultural products by 3.1% and the prices of fish and other fishing products by 3.7%.

The other transportable commodities section also recorded an increase in its prices by 1.3% as a result of the increase in the prices of refined petroleum products by 3.8% and the increase in the prices of other chemical products and synthetic fibers by 3.9%.

The raw and metals section also recorded an increase of 1.3% due to the increase in the prices of stones and sand by 1.3%, while the Metal Products, Machinery and Equipment section recorded a decrease of 1.1%; As a result of the decrease in the prices of base metals by 9.2% and the prices of equipment and devices Radio, communications and television by 4.9%.
