Wall Street’s main indices opened higher on Friday after data showed inflation slowed in February, boosting hopes that the Federal Reserve (the US central bank) will slow the pace of monetary tightening.
According to Reuters, the Dow Jones industrial average rose 42.93 points, or 0.13 percent, to 32,901.96 points at the opening. The Standard & Poor’s 500 index also opened, up 5.35 points, or 0.13 percent, at 4,056.18 points, and the Nasdaq Composite Index increased 18.07 points, or 0.15 percent, to 12,031.54 points at the opening.
