Steel prices in Saudi market declined by 1.7% in January 2023‎

The price index of goods and services issued by the General Authority for Statistics today, Wednesday, showed that the “National” rebar decreased by 1.65% for the month of January of the year 2023 compared to December 2022, while the construction commodities that declined the most for the month of January 2023 were Roman wood, as it decreased By 3.14%, while the electrical connection cable and Chilean wood declined by 2.10% and 2.09%, respectively.

According to the report, construction commodities rose the most for the month of January, white fine sand by 3.41%, African teak wood by 2.18%, aluminum by 1.77%, and electric cable 95 mm by 1.42%. Finally, the national gypsum was the least high among the construction commodities, at a rate of 1.34%

According to the Authority’s report, the price index showed an increase in 11 of the highest commodities for the month of January 2023, compared to December 2023. Yogurt came in the list of commodities that rose the most, recording an increase of 33.33%, while the local melon came second, with an increase of 19.71%, and came third, fourth and fifth, respectively, local zucchini, with an increase of 15.75%, grain 14.64%, and cucumber by 14%.

5 food commodities came in the list of the most decreased during the past month, as both oranges and tangerines recorded a decrease of 23.61% and 22.18%, respectively, as well as potatoes and local tomatoes, a decrease of 15.37% and 6.47%, while the American cardamom recorded a decrease of 7.73%. %.
