Disclosure: Musk donated “Tesla” shares worth $1.95 bln in ‎during 2022‎

Disclosure released by US Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday that Tesla CEO Elon Musk donated $1.95 billion worth of shares in the world’s most valuable automaker to charity last year.

According to “Reuters”, the disclosure showed that Musk followed about 11.6 million shares between August and December of last year, but it did not indicate the entities that received the donations.

The second richest person in the world now owns about 13 percent of Tesla. Musk had donated about $ 5.74 billion in 2021.

Analysts say that Musk may benefit from gifting Tesla shares if he donates them to charity, because shares that are donated to charity do not have to pay capital gains tax on them, as is the case if they are sold.
