A royal order was issued today, Thursday, to appoint Ayman Al-Sayyari as governor of the Saudi Central Bank, to succeed Fahd Al-Mubarak, who was appointed as an advisor in the royal court.
Al-Sayyari began his career in the Saudi Industrial Development Fund as a financial analyst, and obtained a certificate from Chase Manhattan Bank in credit analysis, before moving to work in the Central Bank of Saudi Arabia in 1999 AD, which he seconded in 2003 AD to work in the financial markets sector at the Finance Corporation affiliated to the World Bank Group in Washington for three years.
He was appointed Deputy Governor of the Saudi Central Bank for Investment in 2013 AD, and then Deputy Governor of the Saudi Central Bank in 2019 AD. It should also be noted that Al-Sayyari is a member of several committees and boards of directors
It is noteworthy that Ayman Al-Sayyari, the new governor of the Central Bank, holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals and a master’s degree in business administration, majoring in finance, from George Washington University. He also has got CFA as a Chartered Financial Analyst.
