Saudi stock market value hit SR9.87 trln by end of 2022 ‎

The market value of issued shares at the end of 2022 reached 9,878.10 billion riyals, equivalent to ($2,634.16 billion), a decrease of 1.31% compared to the end of the previous year. This came after the publication of the Saudi Tadawul Performance Report – Annual Statistical Report 2022 AD today.

At the end of 2022 AD, the general index closed the main market at a level of 10,478.46 points, compared to 11,281.71 points as at the end of 2021 AD, a decrease of 803.25 points, or 7.12%. The index achieved the highest closing point during the year on May 08, when it closed at 13,820.35 points.

The total value of shares traded during 2022 amounted to about 1,708.04 billion riyals, equivalent to (455.48 billion US dollars), compared to 2,235.90 billion riyals (596.24 billion dollars) for the previous year, a decrease of 23.61%.

The total number of transactions executed during the year 2022 AD reached 87.90 million transactions, compared to 91.87 million transactions executed during the previous year, a decrease of 4.32%.

As for the total number of shares traded* during the year 2022, it reached 45.11 billion shares, compared to 68.51 billion shares traded during the previous year, a decrease of 34.16%.
