Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Minister of Energy, said today, Wednesday, that the Kingdom intends to use its domestic resources of uranium in the full nuclear fuel production cycle, adding that we are in a leading country in oil and gas and on our way to lead the clean energy sector.
He added, in a dialogue session within the International Mining Conference 2023, that the recent discoveries showed a diversified portfolio of uranium in the Kingdom.
Under the auspices of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef inaugurated the second edition of the International Mining Conference, which aims to develop dialogue on the future of minerals and investment in mining, and cooperation in this field across the extended region. Over the course of two days, the conference will witness a discussion of a number of pressing issues in the mining sector, which include the focus of global economic and environmental developments affecting the mineral industry in the region, and the focus of environmental and social practices in terms of competition and equal opportunities across the value chain to achieve economic prosperity. And the axis related to the role of the Kingdom and its leadership in the world in the supply of renewable energy and its expectations during the period from 5 to 10 years, and there is the axis related to the shape of the future mining company, and the axis of congruence between global supply and demand and the role of the region in bridging the gap Supply and demand for minerals
The conference also allocated an area to display the latest current and future mining technologies, an area for external exhibitions, and an area dedicated to presenting investment opportunities in the regions of Africa, West and Central Asia, as promising mining areas capable of contributing to bridging future demand gaps for minerals, as well as a signature area Partnership agreements and memorandums of cooperation, and the Saudi pavilion, which is organized under the umbrella of the “Invest in Saudi Arabia” initiative, and includes many government agencies and agencies to provide information about the most important developments in investment opportunities in the Kingdom.
