The 22d session of the World Travel and Tourism (WTTC) Global Summit was concluded here Thursday evening under the theme “Travel for A Better Future”.
The Minister of Tourism, Khaled Al-Khateeb expressed his happiness for the Kingdom’s hosting of the 22nd WTTC Global Summit, as it embodied the best example of cooperation through dialogues rich in practical steps, and stimulating sustainability and technology in the tourism sector, which truly reflects what the WTTC seeks.
Al-Khateeb thanked everyone who contributed to the success of this event, from the WTTC’s team, the Ministry of Tourism, the Saudi Tourism Authority, the Tourism Development Fund, and all partners, and the efforts achieved their goal, as “We succeeded in hosting the largest global summit ever, and we reached 8000 Participant, millions of followers on the Internet,”
He pointed out that the activities of the summit received 55 ministers from around the world, more than 250 CEOs of major companies, and more than 60 ambassadors and diplomats, where visions for a better future were exchanged for travel, inspiring speeches, exciting dialogue sessions, and many agreements and partnerships, which “We aspire to reflect positively on the sector. travel and tourism.”
It is worth mentioning that the WTTC was established in 1990, and it consists of CEOs, government representatives and leaders of the travel and tourism industry from the public and private sectors. It also includes entrepreneurs in airlines, airports, hotels, hospitality, travel agencies and excursions, as well as heads of investment companies, insurance groups and cruise lines. The Council also promotes enabling technology and innovation in travel and tourism to ensure the sector’s sustainability and impact and seeks to cooperate with governments and international institutions to create job opportunities for members of society.
