The main indices on Wall Street opened lower today, Friday, amid volatile trading, after data showed that inflation continued to slow, but not enough to discourage the US central bank from its efforts to raise interest rates to higher levels next year.
According to Reuters, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 66.43 points, or 0.20 percent, to 32,961.06 points at the open.
The S&P index fell 7.28 points, or 0.19 percent, to 3,815.11 points, while the Nasdaq Composite Index fell 38.37 points, or 0.37 percent, to 10,437.75 points.
