Saudi Arabia, Britain sign MoU to enhance cooperation in ‎financial services

Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan held, on Tuesday in the British capital, London, a meeting with his British counterpart, Jeremy Hunt.

The meeting discussed strengthening bilateral relations in alignment with major global economic issues, including those discussed in the G20, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, and the promising prospects for the Saudi economy were also discussed.

The meeting witnessed the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between the two sides aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the fields of developing financial and public financial services, encouraging opportunities, and exchanging experiences.

During his two-day visit to the United Kingdom, Al-Jadaan met with the Minister of Investment, Lord Johnson, where they discussed ways to enhance relations and cooperation in the field of financial services between the two countries. He also met in a meeting organized by the Saudi-British Business Council with a number of investors and CEOs of companies, and they reviewed the promising Saudi economic prospects, and the Kingdom’s ongoing plans for economic and financial reforms in line with Vision 2030.

Al-Jadaan also held a meeting with the Lord Mayor of London, Nicholas Lyon, and reviewed with him the partnership between the public and private sectors in the Kingdom, and discussed the opportunities provided by the Privatization Program and the Saudi Partnership. His Excellency also met representatives of a number of companies interested in privatization opportunities and partnership between the public and private sectors in the Kingdom, noting the rapid growth witnessed by the privatization program and the partnership opportunities it provides.
