The Legal Committee at the Laws and Regulations Support Unit of the National Competitiveness Center (NCC) today held its fourth meeting at the center headquarters under the chairmanship of Minister of Commerce and NCC Chairman Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi.
The meeting saw the participation of Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Al-Ibrahim and Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) President Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, in the presence of Deputy Minister of Commerce and CEO of NCC Dr. Iman Al-Mutairi, Assistant President of the Bureau of Experts at the Cabinet Badr Al-Hadab and undersecretaries and directors of legal units of more than 30 government departments.
At the beginning of the meeting, the committee reviewed works and initiatives of the Legal Committee, such as: draft amendments of constraints that should be considered while preparing drafts of laws and regulations, preparing guidelines for legal departments at government authorities, archiving legal documents, in addition to enhancing prevention methods to preserve the rights of stakeholders of distributing inheritance.
The meeting also went over a draft to measure the legislative impact of legal documents before and after their issuance, in addition to reviewing several draft legal documents, mainly residency, protecting personal data bylaw, regulations of the companies’ bylaw, in addition to discussing several recommendations related to challenges and proposals pertaining to the legislative environment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The committee seeks to address challenges related to the legislative and regulatory environment in Saudi Arabia and proposing solutions, in addition to following up on government authorities to implement their tasks in a way that unifies efforts and directly contributes to supporting and stimulating the competitive environment in Saudi Arabia at the economic and development aspects.
