Unprecedented losses incurred by the world’s largest billionaires during the current year. More than 374 billion dollars have been lost by 8 of the 10 richest people in the world since the beginning of this year until the end of last week’s trading.
According to Al-Arabiya, the statistic indicates that the fortunes of 8 of the 10 richest people in the world declined by 30.2%, with losses amounting to about $374.4 billion, after their combined net wealth plunged from $1,238.3 billion at the beginning of the year to about $863.9 billion at the end of the current year.
On the other hand, two of the list were able to increase their wealth by 25.3%, with profits exceeding $45.5 billion, after their combined net wealth increased from $179.5 billion at the beginning of 2022, to about $225 billion at the present time.
According to the ranking of the list of the rich in terms of wealth, the wealth of Bernard Arnault, who is at the top of the list of the world’s richest people, decreased by 4.7%, losing about 8 billion dollars, after his wealth decreased from 169 billion dollars at the beginning of the year, to about 161 billion dollars at the current time.
In second place was the wealthy American Elon Musk, whose wealth declined by 50.3%, losing about $142 billion, after his wealth decreased from the level of $282 billion to about $140 billion, accounting for 37.4% of the total losses incurred by the wealthy during current year.

The Indian Mukesh Ambani came in eighth place, whose fortune declined by 1.3%, losing about $1.2 billion, after his fortune fell from the level of $89.3 billion to about $88.1 billion.
Although billionaire Steve Ballmer’s fortune declined by 28.3% after losing $33.7 billion, he ranked ninth on the list of the world’s richest people, with a fortune of about $85.3 billion.
In the tenth place, billionaire Larry Page, whose wealth declined by 37%, lost about $ 48.4 billion, after his wealth plunged from the level of $ 131 billion at the beginning of 2022 to the level of $ 82.6 billion at the present time.
