Countries of civilizations (Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Greece) consider ‎submitting joint bid to host 2030 World Cup‎

Tourism Minister Ahmed Al-Khatib revealed that Saudi Arabia is studying to submit a joint bid with Egypt and Greece to host the FIFA World Cup in 2030. And if a vote is taken to organize this alliance for the tournament, it will be for the first time that it will be held in 3 countries distributed on 3 continents.

Al-Khatib said in an interview in Riyadh, according to what was reported by Bloomberg, “We are studying a bid to organize the World Cup in partnership with Egypt and Greece, and we hope that it will be a successful bid.”

The Saudi minister made it clear that the three countries will invest in infrastructure development, and will be ready for the event, indicating his certainty that the Kingdom will possess the best stadiums and areas for fans by this date.

It is noteworthy that the Kingdom has already secured the organization of the Asian Winter Games in 2029 in Trogina in the NEOM region, and is seeking to win the organization of the 2027 Asian Football Championship, and has previously organized several important sporting events, including: Formula 1 car racing Annually, Formula E and many high-level boxing matches.

The Kingdom’s attempt to host the World Cup comes to be added to the list of sporting events that attract the largest oil-exporting country in the world, as the Kingdom, according to its Vision 2030, looks forward to opening its economy to tourists, and diversifying the country’s sources of income away from dependence on oil revenues.
