In the presence and patronage of Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, the International Society for Industrial Security in the Middle East organized the Tenth International Conference of the International Society for Industrial Security during the period from 14 to 17 November 2022 AD, at the Dhahran Exhibitions (Expo), under the title “ Security, enabling economic growth, under the auspices of Saudi Aramco and other companies, with the support of the Supreme Authority for Industrial Security and the participation of 100 companies and security agencies from different countries of the world. The conference aims to enhance security resilience by attracting regional and global technologies and expertise, protecting sensitive facilities, security digitization, localizing security industries and service sectors, and empowering women in line with the Kingdom’s ambitious vision.
During his speech at the opening of the conference, Saudi Aramco President and Chief Executive Officer, Amin bin Hassan Al-Nasser, confirmed that the company has been closely associated with this conference, whether with support or partnership with the International Society for Industrial Security for 46 years, in order to enhance communication channels Exchanging experiences and familiarizing themselves with international best practices in industrial security. At this sensitive time, when the world is witnessing extreme geopolitical tensions, there is no room for us to slacken.
Al-Nasser said: “We cooperate to make security and safety a top priority, for the safety of our human wealth and the security of our vital facilities is the way for our continued growth and success,” adding that industrial security is part of energy security, and that the region is on the verge of industrial projects and major investments, leading to industrial security. It plays an important role, and that achieving security for the industrial sectors, and vital infrastructure for the crude oil, gas, chemicals and energy fields in general, is a key factor in the world’s energy supply and promoting development as a whole.
He added: “During the past few decades, the security of vital infrastructures in the Middle East has witnessed a great development compared to many other regions in the world,” noting that the security and stability that our country enjoys, and the great efforts of all security sectors provided security and protection for our vital facilities and preserved the security of the homeland and its achievements, thanks and appreciation to all workers in the security sector.”
Al-Nasser expressed his pride in the company’s efforts to support the localization of cybersecurity and the adoption of drones in the oil and gas business to improve performance and achieve safety, and his pride in the company’s experience in using artificial intelligence, which was appreciated by the World Summit on Artificial Intelligence in Riyadh last September, during which Saudi Aramco launched (Global Corridor for Artificial Intelligence).
Al-Nasser pointed out that “the world has turned into a small village that we overlook and watch its movement as a result of the communications and information revolution and the Fourth Industrial Revolution and its applications, and targeting the crossings and global transport channels has its impact and resonance on the movement of trade and the flow of supplies around the world,” stressing that the human element represents The future of the Kingdom, including that when we found a gap in the work of women in the field of industrial security, we took immediate measures to work to bridge this gap.
