The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) overall assets decreased by 0.4%, or by SR 8 billion to SR 1.991 trillion in September, compared to August 2022 when it recorded SR 1.999 trillion.
According to SAMA’s bulletin for September 2022, the assets soared by about SR 100.3 billion, or 5.3%, compared to their levels in September 2021, at SR 1.891 trillion.
They increase during September 2022 compared to the same month of 2021, has been supported by an increase in deposits with banks abroad by 14.7%, amounted to SR 351.6 billion, compared to SR 306.5 billion in 2021, while investments in securities abroad declined to SR 1127.9 billion, at a rate of 2.2% compared to 2021 at SR 1152.7 billion, while other assets rose by 58.3%, also foreign exchange and gold dipped by 0.7%.
SAMA’s assets consist of foreign exchange, gold and cash in the fund, deposits with banks abroad, and investments in securities abroad, in addition to other miscellaneous assets.
