Samsung Electronics topped Forbes’ ranking of the world’s best employers for the third year in a row, according to US economic magazine Forbes on Tuesday.
Forbes partnered with German market research firm Statista in order to determine the order in the list, and the opinions of more than 150,000 employees from 57 countries in the world were surveyed, including South Korea, the United States, Britain, Germany, China, India and Vietnam.
According to the South Korean “Yonhap Agency,” participants were asked to rate their companies’ social responsibility, economic performance and working conditions, their desire to recommend their employers to friends and family, their desire to recommend other employers in their industries, positive and negative images of other employers.
Samsung Electronics ranked 76th and 106th in 2018 and 2019 respectively, but rose to first place in 2020 and maintained its number one position for the third year in a row.
Samsung said this is a result of employee satisfaction, their pride in getting a higher score than other companies, and the positive image of the company in its industries.
Global information technology giants came in the top positions on the list, as Microsoft rose 3 places to second place, followed by IBM, Alphabet, and Apple.
According to the country, the number of American companies reached 247 companies out of the 800 companies on the list, the number of German companies reached 113 companies, and the number of French companies reached 82 companies.
The number of South Korean companies decreased from 38 companies in 2021 to 16 companies this year, including Naver Corporation (85), Meritz Financial Group (86) and SK Group (93).
