The Royal Commission for the City of Riyadh submitted the bid for Saudi Arabia to host the World Expo 2030 in Riyadh, showing the official approved logo of the exhibition. Princess Haifa Al Muqrin, delegate of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to UNESCO.
The authority stated in a previous statement that this comes after Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Royal Commission for the City of Riyadh, announced last October about the Kingdom’s progress to host the global event.
The authority explained that the Kingdom participated in the virtual meeting of the General Assembly of the International Bureau of Exhibitions (BIE), which was held on Tuesday in the French capital, Paris, to start the bidding process, which will take place in five stages and will end with a vote at the end of 2023.
It is noteworthy that five countries are competing to host: Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Italy, Ukraine and Russia, to host this global event, which lasts six months, and enables the host and participating countries to review the latest developments in science and technology, their most prominent cultures and heritage, and the progress made in the environmental, social and economic sectors.
