CMA: Saudis pumped SR71 bln into the US stock market.. Up ‎‎78% to one-year high

The Capital Market Authority revealed that the Saudis’ trading (buying and selling) in American stocks through companies licensed by the authority increased to 71 billion riyals by the end of the second quarter of 2022, an increase equivalent to 10.4 billion riyals, or 17.1% over their levels in the second quarter 2021, which was 60.6 billion riyals.

According to the Capital Market Authority’s report for the second quarter of 2022, Saudis’ trading in the US stock market increased by 31 billion riyals, or 77.8% from the first quarter of 2022, which was 39.9 billion riyals, to record the first rise after declining during the previous 6 consecutive quarters. .

The transactions of the Saudis, through licensed brokerage firms, are divided into 7 local, Gulf, Arab, Asian, American, European and other geographical regions. The trading value in all of them amounted to 1067.7 billion riyals during the second quarter of 2022, compared to 1143.5 billion riyals in the first quarter of 2022. The local trades accounted for 93.1% of the total trades and amounted to 994 billion riyals. The US market came in second place, with a share of about 6.7% of the total trades, while the share of other markets was only 0.2% of the trading values.
