Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAUDIA), the Kingdom’s national flag carrier, has officially resumed its Jeddah-Marrakech seasonal route with three flights a week.
The ceremony took place in SAUDIA’s Alfursan International Lounge at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. The event was attended by His Excellency Mr. Ibrahim Ajouli, the Moroccan Consul General in Jeddah, and Eng. Ahmed Al-Wasiyah, SAUDIA’s EVP Operations. Marrakech is SAUDIA’s second destination in Morocco after Casablanca.
SAUDIA will be utilizing its state-of-the-art Boeing B787-9 Dreamliner aircraft that is in a two-class configuration of Business Class with fully-flat beds and Economy Class with TV setback screens on every seat; designed to accommodate guests with the highest levels of luxury.
Commenting on the relaunched route, Al-Wasiyah said that “Relaunching Marrakech will help Moroccan pilgrims travel to the Kingdom for Hajj and Umrah during the season. In addition, it will serve as a great convenience for domestic and international transit guests, especially when travel activity between the two countries is growing at an unprecedented rate and new aircrafts are being steadily deployed.”
Saudia’s very first flight to Morocco was in 1967, operating weekly flights with several transit stops before landing in Rabat. Today, SAUDIA successfully runs routes between Jeddah and Casablanca.
In 2021, SAUDIA transported 93,000 guests from and to Casablanca on 517 flights. In the first quarter of 2022, the airline transported 68,500 guests on 348 flights.
Guests can now book their seats to Marrakesh through any of the airline’s digital channels, including the official website www.saudia.com
