Saudi Energy Minister, Egyptian counterpart discuss cooperation

Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman met on Tuesday with Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Mohamed Shaker, in Cairo. This came during the official visit of Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect him – to the Arab Republic of Egypt.

During the meeting, they followed up on the progress of the electrical interconnection between the two countries, and discussed aspects of cooperation in the fields of renewable energy and hydrogen.

It is noteworthy that today a ceremony was held for the signing of an alliance agreement led by ACWA Power and Hassan Allam Holding Company, to establish a wind energy project in the Arab Republic of Egypt, with a capacity of 1.1 gigawatts, with an investment of up to $1.5 billion.
