General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) data showed that the ratio of non-oil exports to imports rose to 49.5% in April 2022, compared to 40.3% in the same month last year, as a result of the significant increase in non-oil exports (36.6%) compared to the rise in imports (11.2%) during this period.
According to the report of tGASTAT issued today, Thursday, “chemical industry products” and related products are among the most important non-oil exports, as they constituted 36.6% of the total non-oil exports, and increased by 67.5% by 4 billion Saudi riyals, then “plastics, rubber and their products.” (27.8% of the total non-oil exports) increased by 15.9% by 1.0 billion riyals from April 2021.
China is the Kingdom’s main partner in commodity trade during April:
In April 2022, the value of the Kingdom’s exports to China amounted to 23.4 billion riyals (17.1% of total exports), making China the main destination for exports, followed by India and South Korea, with a value of 14.5 billion riyals (10.6% of total exports), and 12 billion riyals (8.8% of total exports), respectively.
Japan, the United States of America, the United Arab Emirates, Taiwan, Egypt, Bahrain and Belgium were among the top 10 countries to which it was exported. The Kingdom’s total exports to these ten countries amounted to 90 billion riyals, which represents 65.6% of the total exports.
The value of imports from China was 11 billion riyals (19.8% of total imports) in April 2022, which makes China also ranked first for the Kingdom’s imports, followed by the United States of America and India, with a value of 5.4 billion riyals (9.9% of total imports), 3 8 billion riyals (6.9% of total imports), respectively.
The United Arab Emirates, Japan, Germany, Egypt, Italy, France and the Sultanate of Oman were among the top 10 countries from which imports were made. The total value of the Kingdom’s imports from those 10 countries amounted to 35.2 billion riyals, which represents 63.6% of the total imports.
The five most important customs ports for imports in April 2022:
Jeddah Islamic Port is one of the five most important ports through which goods crossed into the Kingdom with a value of 14.4 billion riyals, equivalent to 26.1% of the total imports.
As for the other four main ports, they were ranked as follows: King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam with 18.2%, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh with 13.2%, King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah with 6.3%, and Al-Batha Port with 6.2%.
These five ports accounted for 70% of the Kingdom’s total merchandise imports.
