SFD Hosts Arab Coordination Group in Its 89th Meeting

The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) in Riyadh hosted the 89th meeting of the Arab Coordination Group of national and regional development institutions, which will last for two days in the presence of representatives of members of the group, including the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, SFD, Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, Qatar Fund for Development, Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, Islamic Development Bank, OPEC Fund for International Development, the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa, Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND), and Arab Monetary Fund.

Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, CEO of the SFD, expressed pride in hosting the meeting at the level of operation directors in member institutions after the halt of in-person meeting for two years and a half as a result of the repercussions of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, noting that this meeting will contribute to boosting the development process to enhance vital opportunities in a bid to realize the Sustainable Development Goals, especially that the development projects and programs funded in developing countries have a positive development impact on the lives of beneficiaries.

The group seeks to realize more effectiveness in providing development support through the best use of efficiencies and capabilities available at the group’s institutions, coordinating finances and accompanying procedures, intensifying efforts and ensuring work sustainability, in addition to realizing joint goals with clear connection between development assistance and other economic relations in beneficiary countries.
