BP records $6.2bln profits in 1Q

British Petroleum (BP) announced that its profits soared to $6.2 billion in the first quarter of 2022 compared to $4.1 billion during the fourth quarter of 2021.

According to CNBC, the company recorded $2.6 billion profits in the year of 2021.

British Petroleum had expected to record $4.5 billion profits in the 1Q of the current year.

Moreover, the oil & gas giant announced a buyback program worth $2.5 billion of its shares.
