European stocks sank Monday after heavy Asian losses as concerns over rising US interest rates overshadowed the re-election of French President Emmanuel Macron.
In initial trade, the French capital’s benchmark CAC 40 index lost 2.0 percent to 6,450.11 and Frankfurt’s DAX lost 1.9 percent to 13,874.29 points, according to AFP.
Outside the eurozone, London’s FTSE 100 shed 1.7 percent to 7,394.91, compared with the closing level on Friday.
