Diriyah Gate Wins International Award for “Jewel of Kingdom” Event

The Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) won an international prize yesterday in Paris, after its competition through the historic opening event of the “Jewel of the Kingdom”, which was held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense in 2019 in partnership with Executive Visions (EVI) Co., where the competition consisted of a group of major events and activities produced by leading international brands, so that the DGDA won the prestigious exceptional event award within the leading “Heavent” Awards in the industry.

The “Jewel of the Kingdom” event was the first building block in the project to develop the Diriyah region, which represents the cradle of the Saudi state and the nucleus of its establishment nearly 300 years ago, and includes the historic Al-Turaif district, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, to turn it into a world-class cultural tourist destination. This historic event also made Diriyah as the major destination in the new tourism scene of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
