Saudi Kayan BOD Appoints Fahd Al-Sherehy as SABIC Representative

Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Company (Saudi Kayan) announced on Tuesday the approval of the Board of Directors the request of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) for changing its representative of the board of directors at Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Company (Saudi Kayan) to be Dr. Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al-Sherehy (Non-Executive Member) instead of Mr. Khalid bin Ali Al-Garni (Non-Executive Member) which his membership started on March 20, 2021. This appointment shall be effective as of March 1, 2022.

It said: “On this occasion, the Board of Directors extends its thanks and appreciation to Mr. Khalid bin Ali Al-Garni for his efforts during his membership term in the Board. The Board also welcome Dr. Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al-Sherehy as a member of the Board of Directors and wishing him all the success”.

It added that he is holder of Bachelor in PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of British Columbia in 2002, and Master in Chemical Engineering from Salford University in 1997, and a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from King Saud University in 1990.

It also added that he has 32 years of experience in the petrochemical industries, where he was included in several positions in the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), and currently he is position as Vice President of Energy Efficiency and Carbon Management.

Board approval may not be deemed final, this appointment shall be put before the first general assembly meeting for approval, the company concluded.
