The National Center for Palms and Dates launched the Saudi Dates Platform- Business, in its 1st show, amid the Gulf Food Conference, at the Dubai World Trade Center.
The platform is the 1st marketing outlet that brings together the largest and most prominent traders of dates and their products to export dates, locally, regionally and internationally, and make it closer to the business market.
The platform’s participation in the conference aims to enhance the presence of the palm and dates sector, in the food market, and to introduce the platform’s services to achieve an increase in the volume of the Kingdom’s non-oil exports.
The Kingdom is taking leaps to be the world’s largest exporter of dates, as it owns more than 400 types of dates, representing 14% of the total global production, among more than 107 date producing countries, in an effort to diversify sources of income and increase Saudi economic power, regionally and globally, through export deals that support the Kingdom’s economy.
It is noteworthy that the Gulf Food Conference is an annual event that includes the food sector, with the participation of more than 2,500 regional and international companies, with the aim of enabling communication among the local products and the, regional and global markets, as well.
