SASO Realize New National Achievement, Obtaining Int’l Recognition for Providing 4-Metrological Services

The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization’s (SASO) Microwave Laboratory of its National Center for Measurement and Calibration has received the recognition of the International Center for Weights and Measures (BIPM), to provide 4 technical services.

Such a recognition contributes to supporting the quality infrastructure, and enhances the Kingdom’s regional and international leadership, in the field of measurement and calibration, enhancing the support of the national economic system, by setting up a metrological reference to the measurement tools, applicable in the Kingdom, SASO announced.

Through such a recognition, the Kingdom has guaranteed the sequence and compatibility of its international units of measurement “SI” with international units of measurement, and the international recognition also means that the calibration certificates, issued by the National Center for Measurement and Calibration are internationally recognized, in all advanced industrial countries, a move that will have a significant impact. On the economic level, it will add to raising the level of trade exchange, and the flow of goods and products to and from global markets.

It is noteworthy that the National Center for Measurement and Calibration has international recognition of 20 technical standard, to provide a range of technical services in various fields, including the field of electrical measurements, the field of time and frequency measurements, and the field of length measurements.

The center is also among the most advanced regional and global centers in this domain, and it provides a range of technical services to its partners, from the public and private sectors, in the Kingdom and around the world.
