Wholesale Price Index Rise 13.2%

Wholesale price index for December 2021 increased by 13.2%, compared to 2020, and higher than the month of November 2021, when it posted a rise of 12.5%, the General Authority for Statistics revealed.

Such increase in the index came mainly from the prices of other transportable goods by 23.4 %, because of its weight in the index.

The section of other transportable goods recorded an increase in wholesale prices by 23.4%, because of the increase in the prices of basic chemicals by 91.2%, and the prices of refined petroleum products by 28.9%, due to their weight, in the index.
