The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources announced the details of the international conference, set to be held from 11 to 13, January 2022, in Riyadh.
It is set also to be launched under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and it will be held, at King Abdulaziz International Conference Center, in Riyadh.
The conference – which is the first of its kind for the mining sector, across the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa, will discuss several topics, including the reality and future of mining, in the region and the world.
In addition to the contribution of mining projects to the development of societies, and to review the potentials and opportunities of the sector, in the Kingdom and the region, as well.
Over 2,000 people from more than 100 countries, and as many as 150 major global investors, and furthermore around 100 prominent international speakers, including a host of ministers concerned with the mining sector, leaders in mining investment worldwide, as well as financial sector leaders, and major heads of state or government, will participate in the conference activities, as well as mining companies’ magnates, from different all over the world.
This conference – which the ministry considers among the most significant events, in the history of mining, to take place, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, establishes long-term understandings and partnerships, in the field, taking into account expectations indications, that the demand for minerals, in the future, will increase by seven times as a result of the great shift to the uses of minerals.
As well as clean energies, and it will be a global forum for exchanging expertise and experiences on the mineral resources’ sector, as it is the first building block on the road to establishing a modern mining industry, based on advanced technologies, responsible investment, and sustainable development.
The first day of the conference will start with the round table meeting for ministers concerned with the mining sector, which will include presentations and discussions on regional and international topics related to the sector and its developments, in all organizational and technical aspects.
The “Mining in a Day” workshop will also be held with other workshops and various panel discussions to highlight crucial issues, including attracting investments, the role of technology, environment and sustainability, and other various discussion points.
