The participants in the forum have shown keenness to get acquainted with the distinguished industrial cities in their locations, where the industrial cities of Jubail and Ras al-Khair are located on the Arabian Gulf, in the east of the Kingdom, while Yanbu Industrial City and Jazan City for Basic and Downstream Industries are located on the Red Sea, in the west of the Kingdom.

These cities are considered global centers of industry, as they host more than 720 industrial projects, and the Royal Commission is still, according to its strategies, continuing to expand and develop to contribute to the diversification of the economy, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

The Royal Commission, which was established by a royal decree in 1975, was able to establish advanced infrastructure, provide high-level services, localize advanced technology and provide developed land for investors, equipped with the required facilities and supported by logistics services with a competitive rental value, to accommodate major projects, at a low cost.

This distinction has contributed to creating an attractive investment environment in the commission’s cities for the local and international private sector, attracting investments that exceeded SR1 trillion ($290 billion), which promoted the localization of the petrochemical and mining industries and the associated downstream industries.

The private sector currently contributes 84% of the total investments, in these industrial cities, recording an average annual growth rate of 14%.

After the  success in establishing a base for basic industries capable of competing globally, it is working on its current strategy to support manufacturing industries by establishing complexes for manufacturing industries, locally, in which it provides many common services that contribute to reducing costs for investors, in those industries.

It also established the Jubail and Yanbu Industrial Cities Services Company, which aims to work with the private sector, in providing industrial services of all kinds to investors at competitive prices.

The Royal Commission has succeeded in creating harmony and friendship between industry and the environment, as it applies strict standards to achieve an environmental system that enhances the quality of life, as the most important competitive advantage enjoyed by the cities of the Royal Commission.
