Governmental and semi-governmental public sector liabilities to the banks have increased to about SR575.8 billion, at the end of last December, an increase of SR7 billion compared to November 2021 levels, at 568.8 billion to record its highest levels, as they increased by SR58.3 billion during the Year 2021, compared to the Year 2020, that stood at SR517.5 billion.
On the other hand, government bonds (including internationally issued government bonds and other instruments that banks purchase from the 2ndary market), in which Saudi banks invested, rose to SR480.75 billion, at the end of last December, with a value of SR6.6 billion, compared to SR474.2 billion, at the end of November 2021.
On the other hand, banks’ credit for the public corporations increased to SR95.07 billion, at the end of December 2021, with a value of SR439 million, compared to its levels last November, at SR94.6 billion.
Public sector liabilities to the banks consist of government bonds, in addition to bank credit for public corporations, including loans, advances and overdrafts.
