Noble Approval Issued, to Usher in Conducting the General Census

Minister of Economy and Planning, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Statistics Faisal bin Al-Ibrahim, expressed thanks and appreciation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz for paying care and attention to the General Population and Housing Census Program.

Commenting on the occasion of issuing the noble approval of the time reference for conducting the general population and housing census for the Year 2022, on the evening of Monday 8-9 May 2022, he added that the Saudi census 2022 -carried out by the General Authority for Statistics every 10-year – would not be prepared, but praise to the great support that the census enjoys from all sectors of the state, and the cooperation shown by citizens and residents, during the stages of preparation and testing of the systems, used in the census program, which contributed to raising the level of readiness of the authority.

He urged all residents of the Kingdom to participate in the census as a national duty and a societal responsibility, by providing the required data accurately, and cooperating with field researchers, highlighting the importance of the census results, which provide data to policy makers and support decision makers, in taking evidence-based decisions, to contribute to developing public services, raising the level of urban planning, in addition to empowering the private sector and investors to advance development.
